| Description | Mr. Brian Zamora has recommended the ballot for NSF/ANSI 342 issue 2, revision 2, Sustainability Assessment for Wallcoverings Products is sent to the Joint Committee for consideration. Purpose: The overall purpose of this Standard is to facilitate the thorough communication of information that is verifiable, accurate, and credible associated with the production, distribution, and use of wallcovering products. Such communication is expected to encourage the demand for and supply of products that cause less stress on the environment and society, thereby stimulating the potential for market-driven continuous improvement. The standard is voluntary and encourages inclusive participation in the production and distribution of sustainable wallcovering products across and within the supply chain. Background: Joint Committee meetings with stakeholders for various interest categories developed this Standard and it was published on November 10, 2010. This revision ballot incorporates issue papers submitted to propose changes to Section 7.3.1. Issues: Changes to the standard for this revision are based on Issue Paper 3 and 11. This section was discussed during the Joint Committee Meeting on October 10, 2011. A ballot was issued to the Joint Committee on October 17, 2011 and there were 2 comments on this section. Issue Paper 11 was submitted January 30, 2012. The response to the comments and Issue Paper 11 were discussed during the Joint Committee Meeting on March 15, 2012. The Issue Papers and the meeting summaries for these meetings are available for your review. The only the sections available for ballot and comment are included in the ballot document. Three vertical dots indicate that sections have been excluded from consideration in this ballot because these sections have not had any proposals for change to the language. Additions are made using grey highlight, and deletions are shown through strikethrough. Amendment Posted on Wednesday, 4 April 2012: Due to an error in the ballot document the strikeout of two points in Section 7.3.1 should be replaced with 3 points. |
