Kavi Mailing List Manager Help
The Manage Subscriptions tool is used to view and manage all a subscriber's subscriptions. Stated another way, this tool displays all Subscriber Lists and Alias Lists upon which a specific email address appears. This includes Kavi® Groups mailing lists and aliases as well as mailing lists and aliases managed through Kavi Mailing List Manager. Every available mailing list and alias is shown, with a check mark indicating which lists this subscriber is on. Manage subscriptions by checking or unchecking the available check boxes.
You may remove one or more subscriptions by unchecking the Regular Subscriber and Digest Subscriber checkboxes for a particular mailing list. Removing all of a public subscriber's subscriptions removes this subscriber from the database completely. If this subscriber is a mailing list moderator, you may not want to use this tool to remove the Moderator Subscription Type because you can't see whether the mailing list has another moderator. Inadvertently removing the only Moderator from a mailing list can be problematic. You could use the Edit Mailing List Subscribers.
View all aliases and mailing lists a subscriber is on and the Subscription Types for each mailing list.
Add or remove the subscriber from available Alias Lists and mailing list Subscriber Lists.
Enter search criteria in the Lookup text box: first name, last name or email address. Click the Lookup button. A list of subscribers matching your search criteria is displayed. Select a subscriber from the pulldown list (your choice will be highlighted), then click the Select button.
All available mailing lists and aliases are displayed. The Mailing List Subscriptions displays Kavi Mailing List Manager mailing lists. The Alias Subscriptions displays all aliases in use in the system except for administrative email addresses. The Group List Subscriptions shows all available Kavi Groups mailing lists. Edit subscriptions as desired, then click the Save button to save your edits.
- Mailing List Subscriptions
You can leave the Show List pull-down list set to the default to see all lists, or if you only want to see lists that this subscriber is currently on, select 'Subscriptions Only' in the pull-down list and click the Search button. To reverse the order in which mailing lists are displayed, click the 'List Name' column heading.
A tabular list displays available mailing lists. Check marks indicate which mailing lists the subscriber is on and which Subscription Types the subscriber holds on each mailing list. If you want to add this subscriber to a mailing list or edit which Subscriber Lists they're on, find the list in the List Name column and click to check or uncheck the check box for the appropriate Subscription Type(s).
To add a subscriber to a mailing list, set the Show List field to 'All Lists', then click the check box for 'Regular Subscriber' or 'Digest Subscriber'.
If this email address isn't subscribed but needs to be granted the same posting privileges as a subscriber, check the Allow check box. The Allow Subscriber List is ignored if the mailing list accepts public posts or conversely, only accepts posts from moderators.
If this subscriber has violated posting policy on a mailing list or should simply not be allowed to post messages for some reason, check the Deny check box for that mailing list. Conversely, if this subscriber was placed on the Deny list temporarily because of a poorly configured autoresponder, etc., uncheck the Deny check box to restored posting privileges to this address.
To take the subscriber off a list entirely, uncheck all subscription types for that list.
To remove a public subscriber from the Kavi Mailing List Manager database, uncheck all of this subscriber's subscriptions. Once the subscriber is unsubscribed from all mailing lists the subscriber will be removed from the database.
- Alias Subscriptions
You can leave the Show Alias pull-down list set to the 'All Aliases' default to see all aliases, or if you only want to see aliases that this subscriber is currently on, select 'Subscriptions Only' in the pull-down list and click the Search button. To reverse the order in which mailing lists are displayed, click the 'Alias Name' column heading. If you want to add this subscriber to an alias, check the check box for that alias. If you want to remove this subscriber from an alias, uncheck the check box.
- Group List Subscriptions
You can leave the Show Alias pull-down list set to the 'All Lists' default to see all group lists, or if you only want to see group lists that this subscriber is currently on, select 'Subscriptions Only' in the pull-down list and click the Search button.
