Hello Everyone, I know that August seems a ways away but we are already planning the face to face meetings for the Joint Committees (JC). In the past NSF has hosted both the JC and the GRMA Summit but as of last year the two have become a completely separate entities. With that said we do want to minimize your travel throughout the year so the GRMA Governance Board (GB) and NSF has been working together to host the Summit and the JC meetings in the same standing week that you all agreed on a few years ago. Previously, we scheduled Tuesday with two JC meetings, Wednesday was the GRMA Summit, and Thursday was the remaining two JC meetings. This year we will be starting a new format to emphasize the separation between the GRMA and the Joint Committees. I do not have specific agendas yet but the general schedule is as listed below. The meetings will be held in Chicago at a location to be announced. I would also like to introduce Randy Slicker to you. He has been hired by the GRMA Governance Board as their Executive Director. I have been working with him and Betsy Crater on organizing the August meeting. He recently sent out a Save the Date email for the GRMA Summit and I wanted to make sure you all received it. I have attached it here but if you did not receive his email please make sure you add his email ( rslikkers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ) to ensure that his emails are not directed to your spam. Again, I want to reiterate that the GRMA and the JCs are separate and you will have to register for them separately, however, to make things easier for you we are working on creating one website for you to register at for each meeting you will attend. More details will follow as we get closer to the meeting but please make sure you put these into your calendars.
