Thank you for your participation in the kick-off meeting!

Please check your email, junk email and spam filter for communication from Andrea Burr via NSF Standards Mail@nsf.org. This is an official communication from the NSF Online Workspace (NOW). The content of that email is included below for your reference. Future communication will not be duplicated and will come directly from the NOW.

The following action items came out of the meeting:

    1. Drafting committee: The Architectural Coatings PCR committee governance team seeks LCA practitioner volunteers to participate in the Drafting Team. This small group will work closely with Seth Jackson, our technical writer for this project. Those who volunteer will provide technical expertise during the development of a strawman. Work on the strawman project will begin after January 1, 2024.

PLEASE RESPOND to this email if you are interested in volunteering by December 15, 2023.

    1. To ensure all concerns are properly addressed in the revision of the ISO 21930:2017 aligned version of the Architectural Coatings PCR, we are gathering pain points from the old version to be reviewed and addressed.

PLEASE RESPOND to this email with any pain points you have identified by December 15, 2023.

    1. Recurring meetings will begin after the first of the year, your input is requested regarding your preferred meeting cadence (every 3 or every 4 weeks.

PLEASE RESPOND to this email with your preferred meeting cadence by December 15, 2023.

    1. If you attended the kick-off meeting, but your name was not on the Committee Membership list (slide 9), please submit your completed membership application, or participant agreement for observers, no later than December 15, 2023. It is required that this documentation be on file before future meetings.

PLEASE SUBMIT directly to Andrea Burr (aburr@nsf.org) and Katherine Berry (kberry@paint.org). by December 15, 2023.

Thank you, we look forward to our work together!

    Andrea

    Hello Andrea,

Attached are my comments, questions, etc. on the full draft PCR. I sent this as an email to the group last month but did not post it to the forum on NOW.

    Thank you,

    Molly Burns

Thank you for leading this process! My responses as requested:

    1. I do not have the time to commit to drafting!

    2. Pain points:

    • product lifetime:
      • difficulty of justification for products that are architectural coatings but not paint, i.e., the methods for justifying a product lifetime that are very specific to paint products
      • multiple lifetimes presented on EPD is confusing for manufacturers and readers

    3. Preferred meeting cadence: every 4 weeks

    4. My name is already on the list! Thanks!

Thanks again. Hope you have a relaxing holiday and see you in 2024!

    Andrea,

(pasted into this thread, response sent 12/15 to your aburr@nsf.org)

    1. I am happy to be part of the draft review process as related to the strawman effort. (this may still be the case if timeline is shared)
    2. Pain points in the earlier version of the PCR:
      1. Normative References
      2. System Boundaries
      3. Data Quality Requirements
      4. EPD Parameters
      5. Additional Environmental Information
    3. Meeting cadence: am fine with either 3-4. But the 4 week interval appears to make more sense given the initial readthrough and the amount of work expected to update from 2007 to 2017 (ISO 21930)
    4. My name was listed in the roster of attendees and participants. – Thank you.
