Dear Members of the Joint Committee on Sustainable Carpet,
We are aware the NSF/ANSI 140 Joint Committee on Sustainable Carpet has been inactive for some time. We are happy to announce the Joint Committee on Sustainable Carpet is starting back up and will be active again soon. As a result, we are looking to confirm interest in continued participation with every member and observer currently on the committee.
Please respond to this email by Wednesday, September 18, 2024, to confirm your interest in continued participation or kindly ask to be removed.
If you wish to continue participation, please review the attached current version of the Standards Development and Maintenance Policies.
- If you are currently a member or an observer and wish to remain in your current role and interest category, please reply to confirm your continued interest. If your interest category has changed, please let us know.
- If you are currently an observer but wish to become a voting member, you may apply by attaching a completed and signed joint committee member application along with a resume or brief bio describing your relevant experience. (If you have recently applied you do not need to send this information again and are already on the waitlist as an observer.)
If we do not hear from you by the deadline, we will assume you are no longer interested and will remove you from the committee.
As a reminder, per the Standards Development and Maintenance Policies, Section 4.1.4, "A JC member may be terminated for the following: if they have completed a three-year term or are considered inactive, i.e., return less than 75% of ballots; and/or miss two consecutive meetings (proxies are excluded from this count); and/or show a lack of participation as an issue proponent, TG Chair, or TG member. A JC member whose change in employment affects their voting interest may also be terminated. Any changes in JC member interest category shall be confirmed in writing to the member by NSF."
If you have questions or are removed from the Joint Committee and wish to reapply, please contact me or the Secretariat; Shannon McCormick, Standards Lead, smccormick@nsf.org.
Thank you for your support and participation in the Joint Committee on Sustainable Carpet.
Best regards,
Jeff Olsen
