Joint Committee on Drinking Water Treatment Units

Thanks to those who have already volunteered!

The attached issue paper requests forming a task group to address/determine influent values for xylene, toluene, and ethylbenzene.

• If you would like to volunteer, or know someone who would, please let me know by Friday, November 6.
• It should only require one or two calls.

The effluent values for these contaminants were updated to match NSF 600 updates, but the influent values were not.  

For example, the previous MCL for xylene was 10 mg/L based on the EPA's limit. This was updated to 0.09 mg/L to match Health Canada's MAC. However, the influent challenge level is still based on 3x the EPA MCL = 30 mg/L. 

Kyle Postmus has agreed to chair the group.
