Joint Committee on Biosafety Cabinetry

Cary Binder requested that this be updated in the next publication (2009) and wanted the JC to review his suggestion.  Please review the paragraph below and let me know if the year should be updated to 2008 or if it should remain 2002 where indicated.     All cabinets shall be field tested using the procedures described in NSF/ANSI 49, annex F - 2002 or 2008??, with the exception of the downflow velocity test. When the downflow velocity test is performed, the procedure by which the cabinet was certified should be used; however, the acceptance criteria outlined in the 2002 standard shall be applied.  Downflow velocity readings shall be taken four inches (ten centimeters) above the bottom edge of the window only when so stated on the manufacturer's data plate label or when the manufacturers' data plate label indicates the cabinet was listed to NSF 49-2002 or 2008? or later.   I appreciate your response by December 10 or sooner if possible.  If you have any questions, please let me know. Mindy - my vote is to go with 2008; but I don't have to field certify the cabinets.
