Good morning,   Please see the following message from the Manganese Task Group Chair, Scott Randall.     Hello DWA Joint Committee Members and Observers,   The DWA Task Group on Manganese Requirements was formed at the 2022 JC Meeting with a charge to recommend an analytical method for manganese composition in metal salt coagulant and blended-polymer products. Among the work the task group has completed over Q1 and Q2, a proposed method has been submitted for consideration to be added to the standard. The attached Procedure for the Determination of Manganese in Ferrous and Ferric Salt Solutions Used in the Treatment of Potable Water and Wastewater was submitted by Fred Sims on behalf of the developer of the procedure, Rob Winkler.   At this time, the TG is seeking volunteers to run the analytic method and report on investigative testing. Note that an alternative oxidizer to chlorine gas is desirable and should be explored when testing the method. Please view the attachment to this email, also available on the NOW , to review the proposed analytic test. If you would like to volunteer to perform the investigative testing, please let the task group know. Your involvement is highly appreciated if you are interested and able to perform the method.   Best regards, Scott Randall     Thank you for your time and consideration of this request, Amy Kobylarz Technical Writer, Standards T 313-426-4918  C 313-310-8339 NSF nsf.org 789 N.
