    Direct plating isn’t the best practice for standardizing your culture as results would take 1-2 days requiring the analyst to store a culture in the interim. This could have a negative affect on the test culture. Suggest clarifying how this could be used – perhaps only for commercially prepared cultures? No concerns about using standardized organisms.
