The proposed draft standard will establish minimum requirements for drinking water treatment systems designed to reduce emerging compounds in public or private water supplies, such as pharmaceutical, personal care products, and endocrine disrupting compounds.
Revision 2 incorporates comments received from the straw ballot (January 2013). This includes updating some of the influent and maximum effluent contaminant concentrations and incorporating language to address RO systems. Language recently approved for the family of DWTU standards, such as tentatively identified compounds (TICs) and unknowns under section 4 and methods for evaluation of personal hand held devices, have been added as well.
Also please note that validation of the procedures will follow successful balloting of the draft standard with the JC. |
