Title Straw ballot - the use of 3 µm microspheres for bag/cartridge challenge
Description
During the 2013 JC meeting, the Committee recommended the use of 3 µm polystyrene latex microspheres as a surrogate for endospores in the bag and cartridge test under section 5.3 of the proposed draft standard NSF 419. During the initial straw ballot, a comment was received recommending that the standard specify a mixture of microphere sizes, ranging from 2-5 µm, instead.

At the recent teleconference discussion on September 3rd, participating Committee members agreed that they should review the original validation data submitted for Annex E and the 2013 JC meeting presentation and reaffirm or change their decision on the 3 µm microsphere requirement based on the information submitted therein.

Please review the referenced items below, and submit your vote by Thursday, October 2nd.
