Enclosed for your review and ballot is the first draft of NSF 457 Sustainability Leadership Standard for Photovoltaic Modules, issue 1 (457i1r1). Please review the proposal and return your ballot by the ballot due date of February 22, 2017 via the online workspace (http://standards.nsf.org).
Each Joint Committee member may vote affirmative, abstain, or negative with comment. Each negative vote must be justified in the comment section. Please include exactly why you oppose and what changes must be made in order for you to support the proposed draft Standard.
Comments submitted during the balloting period as well as the public comment period will be responded to in writing. The Joint Committee will reconvene following the balloting to review comments. If revisions to the standard are made, the standard will go out for a revision ballot.

The purpose of this ballot is to create a new standard for photovoltaic (PV) modules that establishes product sustainability performance criteria and corporate performance metrics that exemplify sustainability leadership in the market.
