The purpose of this ballot is to create an American National Standard for Organic Personal Care Products. The proposed Standard will specify materials, processes, production criteria, and conditions that shall be met in order for personal care products to make organic label and marketing claims. The proposed Standard also contains allowances and restrictions on processes, for agricultural ingredients, synthetic ingredients, and methods of extraction based on the final product’s label claim. |
