Section 5.4.4 of NSF 359 currently requires that the Cv value of the valve to be equal or greater than the manufacturer’s recommended value. However, it needs to be recognized that because of the uncertainty associated with the testing, there is a 50% chance that the tested Cv value be lower than the recommended value. In order to account for this uncertainty, a tolerance of 5% is proposed. |
