The Joint Committee recently received a request for interpretation regarding Commercial (Class C) and Residential (Class R) systems in NSF/ANSI 350.
The request notes that section 8.1.2.2.1.1 states:
Systems evaluated in accordance with the design loading for Class C shall have met the design loading for Class R.
The submitter believes that intent of the JC was that if a system is tested according to the design loading and stress sequences for commercial systems and meets the effluent criteria for commercial systems, it also meets the criteria for residential systems and the system can be certified as both class R and Class C.
The Joint Committee Chair would like your feedback. This straw poll will be open for 5 days.
Do you agree with the following statement regarding NSF/ANSI 350?
If a system is tested according to the design loading and stress sequences for commercial systems and meets the effluent criteria for commercial systems, it also meets the criteria for residential systems and the system can be certified as both class R and class C.
Included as reference documents are the original Request for Interpretation, as well as Section 8 from the 2019 publication of NSF/ANSI 350. |
