Proposed revision to NSF/ANSI 244: Supplemental Microbiological Treatment Systems- Filtration (244i15r2).
The proposed revision will revise the pass/fail criteria and the literature requirements for the microbiological reduction claims under NSF/ANSI 244. Revision 2 addresses two negative comments received during the CPHC r1 ballot (9/8/21): 1) Caution statements were changed to warnings for increased consumer protection and 2) Notes clarifying that NSF/ANSI 244 does not apply to water of known microbiological quality (and referencing NSF P231 for such use) were added to address comments on log reduction. A third comment requesting more literature materials and datasets was addressed by providing these materials. |
