Title Approval of 53i163r2 - PFAS Cation Water Chemistry
Description

Proposed revision to NSF/ANSI 53: Drinking Water Treatment Units — Health Effects (53i163r2)

The purpose of this ballot is to update the cation components of the PFAS reduction test water to prevent scaling / premature filter plugging

The revision 1 ballot received 8 affirmative votes (33%),16 negative votes (67%), and 4 abstentions. Commenters noted that some values for hardness and alkalinity in Section 7.2.6.5 needed to be updated to allow the concentrations in Table 7.8 to work. The current revision 2 ballot makes these corrections and updates. Commenters also requested lab testing of the water parameters, which had been performed. Results are attached to the ballot as a reference item.
