I agree with the need for alternative methods, but like others I want to make sure that these methods are approved by the appropriate agency. Also I think language needs to be included that the Manufacturer whose system is being tested has to provided written approval to NSF to allow the use of an alternative method prior to the start of testing. They are the ones paying for the testing so they should have a say into what test methods are used.
