The second sentence in G1 is written such that compliance with Annex G will comply with NSF/ANSI 61 without testing. This is not what was discussed in the task force. This may be editorial changing shall to "must also be evaluated to the full performance requirements of NSF/ANSI 61". This may remove the confusion.

G.4.2. A coating may be a formed in place lining. What makes this different from as lining sealed in a component? Seals and sealing material may also fail in service which would no longer maintain the integrety of a lining. Formed in place liners or coatings should not have the lead content of the underlying substrate.

G4.3 equation proved by R. Sykes, should this be provided by?

This annex addresses regional commerce requirements, and is a prescriptive method as such does not belong in a national performance standard. How much lead that migrates from an alloy depends less on lead content and more on where in the alloy the lead is distributed and how the alloy is used to form a component. It is not a safe assumption that lead is uniformly distributed through a cast component.
Submitter Proposed Solution
The first observations may be editorial in nature and should be adopted.

This Annex should be a stand alone standard, not associated with the current NSF/ANSI 61 standard
