It is impracticable to request suppliers to provide information such as the supplier's labor-management system and problem-solving methods, as well as the complaint handling process and the record on worker complaints or grievances for top issues for supplier, because such information relates to the sensitive internal circumstances of the supplier and is an area that manufacturers should not enter under normal business practices. Therefore, no further requirement should be added to b).

 

We propose that the text of b) should be reverted to be that of the draft for the 1st Public Comment.

We propose that the text of b) should be reverted to be that of the draft for the 1st Public Comment as follows:

 

[ADD: b) Description of the process and outcomes for addressing worker complaints or grievances for top issues for [DELTE: each] the supplier operating each facility in scope, which may include collectively bargained grievance mechanisms, including but not limited to:

i. The independent mechanism(s) for workers to submit grievances (such as hotlines, emails, mobile applications);

[DELETE: ii. The percentage adoption of worker submitted suggestions pertinent to their working conditions;]

ii. How workers who access the grievance mechanism are protected from retaliation;

[DELETE: iv. Process and participants behind root cause of grievance and measures set to avoid the reoccurrence of grievances;]

iii. How the worker who submitted the grievance, if known, is included in the resolution process;

[DELETE: iv. At a minimum, status of resolution of grievances based on actual time for resolution, repeat and resolved grievances and management action to address them]

iv. The average length of time to resolve complaints or grievances; and
